The Emerald Pub is located in a section of Manhattan called BoHo. I had done many gigs just down the street at The Ear Inn with Marc Holen's band The Rump Rollers (RumpRollers) and Patrick Brennan's Soup. As I walked past the Ear and into the Emerald I felt a rush come over me; like I was starting something brand new. Tonight I was part of the band. Even my tin whistle parts were flowing. Here is my Black 47 beginning, having fun, making the music.
Larry Kirwan - guitar and lead vocals
Chris Byrne - uilleann pipes background vocals
Fred Parcells - trombone tin whistle
