Concertina Your source for Edgley Anglo Concertinas and Music
Fingering Systems
There are two basic Anglo fingering systems, Wheatstone and Jeffries. The only difference is with the notes on the right side, third row. Basically the Jeffries has two C#s, but the Wheatstone system is more symmetrical with the notes on the left side. The Wheatstone (Lachenal) system is by far the more popular, and is the system played by notables such as Chris Droney.

IRTRAD-L Archives -- December 2005 (#118)
DOWN FROM BELL HARBOUR. Chris Droney. CICD 161. Playing concertina since the 1950s,
Chris Droney is one of the generation that persisted in playing traditional music
through the bad times when it wasn’t heard on the national media, the generation
that treasured it and passed it on to an eagerly awaiting younger generation.
He hasn’t recorded an awful lot, but this new album shows that age has not dimmed
his energy nor has it diminished his musical ability. He’s accompanied on piano by
Jacinta McEvoy, and the whole project is well conceived and beautifully carried through.
