Sleep Tight in New York City: Black 47, After 25 Years and 2,500 Shows, Steps Off
                    the Stage

After writing about Black 47 for the NY Times , Michael J. Malone felt there were
many more colorful stories about the band that were worth telling, including those
from the final shows. Conducting a new batch of interviews from a wider pool of
sources, he wrote a fresh story, free from word count restrictions. Longer than
an article but shorter than a traditional book, "Sleep Tight in New York City" is
available as a 99¢ digital download for the Kindle, iPad, Nook, etc.

Last call for a great bartenderBy Pat Fenton
I’m thinking of George Kornienko a/k/a “George the Bartender” tonight. The bar was called Rocky Sullivan’s. It was on 29th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. And in my time of hanging out there in the late 1990s and up until it closed, I had the good fortune to get to know him. He was an old school bartender who was unlike anyone I ever met who worked behind the stick. Sadly he left us on July 6.
